PasteKey — Text Snippets

The pitch

PasteKey is a Chrome extension that lets users save and quickly insert reusable text snippets, such as templates, canned responses, or frequently typed phrases. It streamlines repetitive typing tasks by making saved snippets accessible via a browser toolbar or keyboard shortcut.

The fill form is the best feature, it focuses specifically on filling multiple text boxes on a webpage. It takes time to build... but once it's customized for a webpage it's powerful. Complete job applications in seconds, emails, it's even possible to fully automate your work life. It's a fast snippet storage and paste-on-demand functionality directly within the browser.

  The problem is easy to understand and the product could definitely save time for people who repeatedly type the same replies, templates, links, or frequently used phrases. The browser extension format also makes the idea convenient because snippets can stay accessible while working. The main challenge for me is differentiation. Text expansion and saved snippet tools already exist in many forms, so I would need a stronger reason to choose PasteKey specifically instead of using an established alternative or built in productivity features. The foundation is useful and practical, but I would want to see more unique functionality, smarter automation, or a clearly defined target audience before I would personally consider it a must have product.

  I understand what they are trying to solve for, but I don't 100% know if it's a big problem in my life yet - but I can also just not be the target demo.
